With the release of the Washington State Legislature's conference committee budgets a few minutes ago, we now know for certain that we have had some success this year. The Tourism Office is including us in the Watchable Wildlife Conference this September; the operating budget funds the start of the ship sinking study; and the capital budget funds the re-permitting of the artificial reef at Saltwater State Park. Three for three, sort of.
These are all good starts - but all will require follow-through during the interim and next year.
And for years to come. No more pretending to be whales…
